Project Narrative:
The original house was built along the down slope of a gently rolling hill in Marin County. The main goals of this project were to not only remodel the existing attached two-car garage but also to construct a new two-car detached garage adjacent to the existing residence. The main hurdle for the project hinged on solving the inherent grading problems associated with original positioning of the house since the grades pitched water towards the residence instead of away from it. Our solution incorporated the new detached garage with a new low planter wall in front of the original attached garage doors thereby creating a raised edge from which to pitch the water away from the house. |
