Project Narrative:
The current structure was built after the original house on the site was destroyed by a fire in the 1950’s. Typical of many structures in the area, the current structure had a substandard foundation and framing system. Our goal was to make the necessary improvements to shore-up the remaining structure and add additional living space with minimal effects to the inhabitants and minimal changes to the remaining structure. |

Special Feature:
The original deck was accessed via a very narrow door and hallway and was essentially cut-off from the living space. The new deck is accessed from a new 8’-0” wide sliding glass door which gives the space a greater connection to the outdoors and also makes it feel like a bigger space. |
